Listen to Chris Brown on iHeartRadio
(Yahoo!) - Chris Brown better start practicing his "Blue Steel" face. The "Don't Wake Me Up" singer has been signed as a model with mega-agency Wilhelmina — which also has celebs like Jessica Simpson, Beyonce, and Britney Spears on its roster. According to Women's Wear Daily, Brown plans to expand his modeling duties into creating his own fashion and beauty endorsements … because who doesn't think of Chris Brown when they think of beauty and fashion?
"Art and style has always played a significant role in my life —it's evolved with me throughout my career," the 23-year-old said in a statement.
One thing that has not evolved is Brown's bad-boy behavior … or the public's opinion of him. In the past few months alone, he has been on the receiving end of criticism for playing his on-again/off-again girlfriend Karrueche Tran against his off his again-on girlfriend Rihanna, dressing like a Taliban member for Halloween, using gay slurs, getting into a physical altercation with Drake at a New York City nightclub, and the list continues.
It will be interesting to see how Brown fares in his beauty and fashion ventures, an industry that is usually reserved for women, considering that female opinion is still split into two camps more than three years after he severely beat Rihanna on the eve of the 2009 Grammys. Do women really want to buy beauty products from a guy who has a long history of being misogynistic?
