Are you spending time with your other half parents and extended family for Thanksgiving? Here are some great tips so that you can win them over and be the house-guest they want to invite back over and over again!

  • Bring a hostess gift: It doesn't need to be anything expensive, even a home-baked dessert would do, but it needs to be thoughtful. Letting your hostess know that you appreciate the invite and you are happy to be there is the first step in making a good impression.

  • Offer to help: Cooking, clearing the table, or even running a last-minute errand – if something needs to be done, offering to help is a great way to let your other half family know you want to be a part of their holiday.

  • Have fun: Being respectful and polite is an absolute must, but that doesn't mean you can't let your personality shine through. Join in during conversations and be playful – they want to get to know you, so let your awesome self shine through. Go easy on the cocktails, though. They don't want to meet the tipsy you too soon.

  • Don't stay glued to your other half. Be brave, Get out there and bond. This is your time to form relationships with the other half family, and they won't get to know you if you're a stage-five clinger. (Also, it's kind of insulting if you don't demonstrate an active interest in them.)

  • Say Thank You: It seems so simple, but a heartfelt thank you before you leave is always appreciated – even better would be a simple thank you note expressing what a great time you had

This all might sound kinda lame... But what you got to lose other than your other half!
